Overview
LingoGlint is an iOS language learning app for vocabulary, short review sessions, tiny dialogues, progress tracking, pronunciation help, and widgets. The app is designed to work without a LingoGlint account.
Information stored on your device
LingoGlint stores learning progress locally on your device, including review answers, words learned, due review timing, daily progress, selected learner and target languages, widget preferences, the widget word snapshot, and lightweight app settings. This information keeps your learning queue moving and updates widget content.
V1 does not include account-based cloud sync. Removing the app can remove locally stored progress, subject to Apple’s device and backup behavior.
Analytics
LingoGlint uses Firebase Analytics to understand coarse product usage, such as onboarding progress, review completion, paywall views, selected plan identifiers, language choices, restoration actions, and widget setup. This helps improve the learning flow.
Analytics events are designed not to include vocabulary terms, reading text, typed text, personal messages, or a LingoGlint account identifier. Firebase may process device identifiers such as Apple’s Identifier for Vendor, product interaction, and other usage or session data as described in the App Store privacy disclosure.
Crash diagnostics
LingoGlint uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and technical diagnostics such as the app version, device model, operating-system version, session or performance data, and stack traces. This information is used to identify and repair failures. Crash reports are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Purchases
LingoGlint Plus subscriptions are purchased through Apple’s App Store. Purchase status is processed by RevenueCat so the app can unlock Plus features and restore purchases. Apple and RevenueCat may process transaction identifiers, an anonymous app user identifier, purchase history, and subscription status needed for purchase handling.
LingoGlint does not receive full payment-card details from Apple.
Purchase measurement
Releases with purchase measurement attach the Firebase Analytics installation identifier to the anonymous RevenueCat customer. This links subscription activity to the same app installation used for product analytics; it is not anonymous aggregate data at the point of collection. This supports first-party reporting of verified subscription events, including trials, purchases, renewals and refunds. It does not create a LingoGlint account, collect your email address, or use Apple's advertising identifier. A completed checkout or restored entitlement is not treated as proof of paid revenue.
Where server reporting is enabled, a private financial-event ledger retains product, currency, verified transaction amounts, subscription-event dates, transaction fingerprints and estimated store deductions. Raw receipts, payment-card details, subscriber messages and learning content are not stored in this ledger. Sandbox activity is excluded from production revenue. Contact support about privacy requests; transaction records may need to be retained for legitimate accounting or security purposes.
Website campaign links
The website can carry predefined, aggregate campaign tags through its own pages and into Apple campaign links when configured. It does not use these tags to identify individual visitors, store cookies, fingerprint devices, or forward advertising click identifiers or arbitrary query text to Apple. Campaign reports can be incomplete and do not identify every individual installation or purchase.
Widgets
LingoGlint widgets use shared on-device data to display the current word, translation, pronunciation, and example. Widget data is used to render the widget and refresh its timeline.
No account system
LingoGlint V1 does not include user accounts, login, backend sync, public profiles, messaging, or social features.
Support requests
If you contact support, the information you choose to send—such as your email address, device details, screenshots, and message content—is used to respond to the request and troubleshoot the issue. Do not send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information.
Optional advertising measurement — proposed next release
Advertising measurement is not enabled in the current configuration. If enabled in a future release, we will ask separately for your choice and Apple's tracking permission before initializing Meta advertising measurement. With both permissions, Meta may receive an app-installation identifier, app activation information, and subscription activity delivered through RevenueCat to measure advertising. This can connect activity across apps or websites owned by different companies. We do not send your vocabulary, reading text, review answers, email address, or phone number for this purpose.
You can decline without losing access to the app or changing subscription prices. In a release that offers this feature, you can turn off future advertising measurement in LingoGlint's Settings or revoke tracking permission in iOS Settings. Changes are synchronized when connectivity is available; turning off measurement does not delete events already delivered to service providers. These proposed disclosures must be reviewed before that feature is released.
Children
LingoGlint is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child sent personal information through a support request, contact us so the request can be reviewed and the information removed where appropriate.
Service providers
Apple, RevenueCat, Google Firebase Analytics, and Google Firebase Crashlytics process limited information for the purposes described above under their own terms and privacy practices.
Changes
This policy may be updated as LingoGlint adds features, languages, or integrations. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
